BIO

B-Mac aka $outh$ide Mac was born on June 2, 1988, and raised on the Southwest side of Rochester, NY, by his mother and grandmother. By 2016, he was charged with possession of a weapon after an alleged shooting in his neighborhood. $outh$ide Mac was sentenced to 15 years in state prison with supervision after being found guilty following a jury trial. Leaving his family behind to figure it out on their own, $outh$ide Mac’s younger sister M-Jay was accused of shooting an estranged man on her street and charged with 2nd degree murder. She was later found guilty after lack of evidence and sentenced to 18 years for a manslaughter charge.

At the age of 13, $outh$ide Mac started writing and recording music on cassette tapes. Mac’s love for the craft inspired him to get more involved in Hip-Hop. In 2007, $outh$ide Mac released his first project called G.Y.G presents Chalk Tape Vol. 1 (2007). In 2010, $outh$ide Mac shot his first video for the song “Slow Learners” featuring Dirty Red (RIP). The following year, $outh$ide Mac released Chalk Tape Vol. 2 - Fresh out the Grave with DJ Grand Imperial. In 2012, $outh$ide Mac dropped Chalk Tape Vol. 3 - Mac From The Dark featuring Rigz, Lil Eto, Dirty Red (RIP), Rob Gates, Shaft.Amill, and I.D. (RIP).

Legends Never Die was released to allow people to stay connected to hearing some of Dirty Red’s stories and his art that he was working on before his demise. $outh$ide Mac is currently due to be released from prison in 2025. Since his incarceration, $outh$ide Mac has perfected his craft, mind, and body. He plans to start off where he left, releasing new music, videos, performances, and merch, and many new ventures. Through this website, he is allowing you to be a part of this journey he is continuing to carve out.
